living in orlando, and seeing this article on orlandosentinel.com, i knew it had to be a central florida story. i guessed it would be in lake county, and i was right. now why, does the nicest county in central florida sometimes have these types of stories? it seems like lake county is getting worse and worse, which is sad because i think its the best county in central florida. but after seeing the news and reading articles on-line, it seems like it may be heading in the wrong direction. any thoughts?

Hey, at least you can put 'em down if they're on your property.

Unfortunately, psychos can be living anywhere. This guy is quite obviously disturbed. It doesn't mark the beginning of some type of crime spree specific to this area.

This is what I am talking about regarding the weird crimes in Florida. They are so diverse and bizaare, not your usual run of the mill robbery or murder. I hate animal abusers.

Most everyone hates animal abusers. These crimes are nation wide. We don't see local news from all over everywhere. I saw stupid stuff living in several other states I've lived in. I don't think FL can claim fame here. I see wiered crimes frequently reported in the Yahoo news and others from around the county. It is sad and makes me angry where ever it happens.

Yes, I mean you can shoot the offender and not have to answer many questions. I agree it's awful - Pow!

End of story, justice Florida-style.

Exactly. The "psychos" are unusual, they're going to do unusual things and thus make good news stories, they don't travel in packs, and you can't predict where the next one will pop up--it could be anywhere.

Encountering one is a bit like getting hit by lightning . . . although that does happen more often in Florida, doesn't it . . . but still.

Thank you Jane. My Florida home is in beautiful Lake county....not far from Eustis. I'm quite happy with the neighborhood and feel safe there. This bizarre crime could have happened anywhere.

That's a terrible thing......I'd start with doing the same thing to him!
