No kidding. I have run across so many people who left good paying jobs in other states for warmer weather and "cheaper" living.

I can't tell you how many people I have come across( recently two guys from Brighthouse cable) who when I ask(without giving my opinion) do you like living in FL? Most of the time it is no and they're sorry they moved here.

Many of them can't even afford to put money aside to relocate.

I'm not partial to Jax-but I don't think it's the worst place to live either...

I think it depends on the area/town too. Celebration is very into community events. We even have a Founders Day weekend We are getting a history center this year about the town. Winter Park seems like this as well. Lots of art/music events, Christmas strolls, town picnics, etc.. Coming up in Celebration we are having an art stroll with artists painting downtown, there is a Halloween maze and "Trail of Nightmares", we had an Octoberfest the other weekend with several bands and events like scarecrow making, we have a holiday house tour with proceeds going to charity, the Philharmonic will be playing in a local church for a holiday concert, tree lighting/decorating and cookie making, etc. We have made tons of friends here between neighbors and work friends. We choose where to live carefully because we did not want a transient, holiday home town. Hopefully Celebration will not go this route! It is hard to make it in FL!
