OP - You need to give us more information about yourself so we can better give you an answer. Are you buying or renting? Price range for house or rent? Likes and dislikes? Some requirements you may have? Etc.

Anything in the panhandle would be better than Kissimmee, no question.

You can do far far better in terms of housing if you're willing to commute a little into Kissimee. Panama City area, housing is either lousy in some fashion or drastically overpriced.

I guess you've never seen some of the houses near Lake Toho or East Lake Toho. There's many nice areas of Kissimmee. Downtown Kissiimmee has a genuine feel to it also. Also Remington Golf Club area is real nice.

Looks like a "dumpy" area to me!!!LOL!

There were a couple nice houses that were very expensive in there, sure. But $1m house in Kissimmee?

I havent seen every inch of Kissimmee, so I guess I shouldnt have said it was dumpy. But from what I have seen, I wasnt impressed, and I have visited the area since I was a little kid. I wouldnt advise someone to pick a place in Kissimmee over than panhandle.

Kissimmee, like any other city has bad areas, not as bad as people make it out to be (except the OBT area and near Poinciana) but it has many nice areas. Kissimmee is actually a very large area and the population increase is about 58% within the past 10 years. Lake Toho was packed with people, on a Thursday of all days and many airboat rides were going on. But you cannot judge a place from the worse areas which you've been through. Demographics would be the main concern and money of course.

^^^ Yes, the demographics would turn me off, but that is my own personal opinion. I live in the Waterford Lakes area now. Not sure there's much of a difference.
