Was just wondering where you all that were forced to, or chose to escape from Florida due to the high cost of living/crime/weather/whatever (not job relocations) moved to after your exit from the Sunshine state? Do you like it?

We W Palm Beach for Raleigh, NC last year and it is just fine. Sure I miss the beach but this is a much better place for my family. The beach isn't THAT far away.

and the MidWest (Minnesota, Michigan,etc.). When we were looking at condos, that is where the people selling were going back to. They were all retired people who were going back home.

we sold a beautiful house. Then I realized a beautiful house with insane taxes/horrible work issues and rude people= no sense of community.

N Florida is still nice. I will never go to S Florida ever again.

We moved to Sevierville, Tennessee to escape Florida. But, then we figured out we really missed it here. Ofcourse, most of our family is here but Tennessee just wasn't for us we are Florida people. Although, we do not like the changes that our area has gone through especially the recent crime rate and the amount of sexual predators in the area. Maybe we just need to find a different area in Florida? We have 5 children that we have to raise and protect so it is important to have good schools and low crime rate, any suggestions?

Go to that area once a year during the summer on the way to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg.

Older couple ( former neighbors ) in the 60's moved to Ft Myers 4 years ago, they moved back last summer to our area, this past winter did them in and they are moving back to Florida ( Tarpon Springs area - Already bought a foreclosure for next to nothing - this is where I got the new yahoo link to foreclosures I posted here recently )

They wanted to come back home, missed it, but then realized this is not what they wanted.

Many, not all, are moving away will go back to Florida if they come up north to the cold areas.

Left the Orlando area (Winter Springs) 3 weeks ago.... Moved to Stephens City, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley..... So far I'm liking it, but I haven't gotten into any real routine yet which is really where the test is. I could like ANY place for the first three weeks....

Yeah, being from Northern Illinois there's no way I'd have gone from Florida and jumped right back into THAT kind of cold.... I'm sure it had to do more with family or something because common sense would tell a person that...
