Hi all,

I am looking for some advices -

A bit about myself and my situation - I am in late 30s; lived in NYC half of my life until 2004; at which time I re-located to Asia(Shanghai & Hong Kong) ever since.

I met my fiance two years ago and we are ready to settle down and to start a family. Why Florida, you might ask - clean air; blue sky (yeap; you don't got to see a clear blue that often from where I am now; also it's not too far from NYC. The air pollution in China caused me cough excessively in the winter; when smog are worse.

Having read thru the posts on the forum, seems one recurrent advice is to get a job first! Unfortunately, this won't be easy for me - because I am 8000 miles away. I do have enough saving to last me a while.

What are major industries (and corporations) that we could target? I worked as IT project manager, IT operations/services for a multinational retail chain in the past; as well as IT technical work for financial institution while in New York. She has ACCA (Similiar to CPA; unfortunately, it's not recognized in the US) and CFA designations; worked as inventory management manager and business analyst in the past.

I supposed location(presumably city) would be a function when I can land a job.

By the way, are there any export oriented company in FL?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Ken

For export type company employment I would look into Jacksonville and Miami. Biggest industry in most areas of Florida is our tourist industry. With the shuttle program ending unemployment will be going higher than the 11or so % it is now and tech companies won't be doing a lot of hiring here on the coast near KSC unless they get other type of contracts.
