Hello,

Looking to move to FL (surprise, surprise) and am looking for a little local advice. Here some info...

1) Mid 20s couple.
2) I'm a physical therapist and she is a cosmetologist.
3) #1 outdoor activity is golf. Want to be around a nice selection of courses.
4) Love to eat out and try new restaurants.
5) Not concerned with lots of night life.
6) Plenty of shopping would be great.
7) Don't have to be directly on the beach but <30-45 min drive to a decent spot would be ideal.
8) Prefer a more laid back atmosphere. Want a small town feel but within a short commute to a larger city.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ponte Vedra. I was thinking South FL when you mentioned restaurants and golf courses, but then when you said "laid back," I had to go in another direction. Ponte Vedra is nice and Jax is not far at all, beaches are right there, tons of golf courses, limited nightlife but you dont really care, so I'd go with Ponte Vedra.

I would say around the WPB area. Maybe Jupiter?

I think PVB is just as nice, and you can be in N FL instead of S FL, which is a plus for several reasons, including proximity to other states.

Saint Augustine area/St John's county meets all of that criteria.

Lots of golfing, plenty of restaurants and shopping with the Outlet mall. Close to the beach, but still kind of a small town feel, and close to Jacksonville.

I'm thinking Delray.

I agree with FSUMike: St. Augustine.

Like I said, Ponte Vedra, which is in St Johns Co. It looks like it's PBC vs SJC.

But then there are some of us Floridians who think if you live in North Florida you might as well stay up North because you still have lots of winter days North of Daytona Beach. I moved to Florida to get out of wearing winter coats and the farther North in Florida the more frosty and freezing mornings you have.
