Lots of people eat rice daily. I think it's a very cultural thing.
I like rice but wouldnt want it on a daily basis, but there is alot of things I dont know how to do with rice.
I'm not Hispanic, but was raised on rice at a 10 to 1 ratio over potatoes. I believe it has something to do with having parents raised by ladies from the deep South.
Oh, I eat rice almost daily ( lots of Mexican food around here , but I really like boiled potatoes to my meal. Where I come from, we can prepare potatoes/make dishes in more than 100 ways!
Here everything come with rice, and if you finally spot a place that serve potatoes - it will be a baked or fried I guess no one like to peel them anymore ( hate the instant version!!!!!)
We eat a multi/whole grain rice mix from Trader Joe's that has a very high fiber content and takes about 40 minutes to cook....we eat it about once a month. White rice is very caloric and high carbohydrate and not that healthy (no fiber). Mexican rice is delicious but also full of calories.....same with Chinese fried rice. I think some peopel don't eat rice because it isn't the healthiest thing to eat.
Rice, I don't get it. The food doesn't taste good without it, it's like something is missing. Is it because I'm Hispanic?
Every time I don't get rice it seems like something is missing .....rice! Seems normal to me! I love rice, also many other things. Foods taste fine without it and foods taste fine with it! It's just another starch. I will say it certainly seems more agreeable to my stomach these days.
