Another option to maintain coconut oil in a liquid state during cooler months is to try and utilize refrigerator heat.
For best refrigerator efficiency, periodically clean the condenser coils . . located behind the front grill, or behind a back bottom panel. Also may help to turn off the refrigerator for several hours (last thing at night to first thing next morning) to ensure a complete defrost.
I have coconut oil in the kitchen, coconut water in the fridge and coconut flakes in a container. Shampoo and hand soap contains coconut. I'm not a chocoholic so if I feel the urge for a candy bar, it will be Almond Joy or Mounds.
The regular markets have coconut water. I got my coconut oil at hfs but I think I've seen it in the super market.
We've rigged our shower to only dispense coconut juice from a large bladder on the roof that we have refilled weekly by an islander who is a distant cousin of Jimmy Superfly Snuka. Our skin has never looked better (neighbors have commented on the glow) and I feel so healthy and strong. Plus I don't have to eat breakfast I just open my mouth and sip the sweet nectar of the Gods while scrubbing. I'm tempted to add some honey to liven up the taste but need to research the effects of that on my skin and hair first.
No wonder the Islanders climb those tall coconut trees to harvest this amazing fruit...from the water to the meat to the oil that's made from it. you can't go wrong with the coconut. I use it for everything form cooking to skin softener(lotion), to hair. the uses for it are endless. it even replenshies the leather on my car seats.
And you can make a cooking fire from the dried brown husks! I am ALL ABOUT coconut, and that extends to ice cream, cake and cream pie.
