Bourdain is amazing. I like his show bc he is the kind of chef that does know his way around a kitchen.

He is such a great chef he simply doesn't need to talk about anyone else.
I mean, if you don't like it, you don't have to eat his/her food. it is that simple.

Go for it, I'm sure he cares . He speaks his mind and I appreciate it.

I love Bourdain.

I don't know Paula Dean so cannot comment. But Southern Cooking when I was there was way too rich and fatty for me. It seemed everything was deep fried or smothered in butter. The desserts were eye wateringly sweet also which makes me feel a little nauseous. Not my favourite kind of cuisine.

I would not dream of eating meals like Paula fixes but only on special gatherings and in small portions. You don't have to pile it on. I love her pies AKA paaaahhhhy.
And for those who don't know her story, it is an admirable one far more so than the former addict Anthony. She was a single mom with two small sons and had just gotten out of a very sadly abusive relationship with the ex. She had no money, no job so the only thing she could do was cook. Not sure of the inbetween stuff, but she managed to open a small eatery and it blossomed. She has my admiration for being a survivor. It was also cute when she told the story of meeting her now husband...she was walking her dogs and they would poop on Michaels lawn frequently. She had asked God to send her a neighbor that she could visit with and low and behold out comes Michael to complain about the poop no doubt.

Am I at Risk for Type 2 Diabetes? - National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse

Being overweight, not exercising, fat distribution (belly fat), genetics all risk factors. You can delay and even prevent it by losing some weight and exercising daily.

In every amputation I've seen as a nurse and I've seen many, the patients all had Type 2 diabetes. There might have been a few from other causes, but I can't really recall any, unless they were traumatic injuries. Best to prevent it with all your might.

I like Bourdain, even if he is a smartass, but I don't think he's particularly a paragon of health. I was watching one of his shows recently, and he's drinking heavily and rhapsodizing about the wonder of meat while downing a bacon double cheeseburger. And if you look at the guy, he may be lanky but he doesn't look particularly fit.

Is it wrong to like both Deen and Bordain?

I like Anthony Bourdain for his hip, edgy shows. The thing I like about No Reservations is that he doesn't really make the show about himself, even though everyone knows it is about himself in a way. But he finds a way to tell the story through the eyes of the people he interviews, and he really avoids tourist traps and gives viewers a perspective of places they wouldn't see in most programming.

But all that being said, I have to agree that he comes across as a bit of a ******* when he blasts Paula Dean. Just leave her alone. I doubt for a moment she's trying to sucker people into living her lifestyle and eating her diet. She knows that the food she's making is a crappy diet -- she just doesn't give a hoot. And kudos to her, I say!

Personally, I rather watch Paula Deen and Andrew Zimmern battle it out in a Celebrity Death Match.

Most diabetics are type 2 so I saw more of them versus type 1's. That's why I saw the amputations associated with type 2's. 1's can have complications, too.
