Confessions of a Plate Licker (white wine, mushroom, cake, bread)

Since I was really little, I've always been a plate licker. As I got older, I realized it is not socially acceptable, so I began to hide it. But I still do it. Come on, the sauce is the best part of a meal usually, why would you let that go to waste?

Recently I have been wondering if I am alone in the world.


Any other plate lickers out there?

No, but you're not alone. Dogs and cats sometimes do that.

I could go for a lick or two of a white wine/butter sauce...or maybe a marsala wine/mushroom sauce

If someone can't control themselves, some people use bread to "sop up" gravy or sauce.

I have a full beard, so plate licking is out. That's what my dog is for.

I have been known to pick up the plate and sip the sauce..
But I havent licked a plate since I was a little kid...

I would not find it offencive though, Just means i'm a good cook

I always licked the plate clean, especially cake n' ice cream...had to get every last crumb.
