I like it spread on bread for a ham or turkey sandwich instead of mayo. Or with mayo.
When I'm uninspired about what to bring to the office for lunch, I just start throwing vegetables and hummus into my cooler, and worry about the results later. LOL
The stuff I buy doesn't have any "additives", so the ingredients in the tub I've grabbed from the grocery store shelves doesn't keep me up at night.
I'm glad someone likes hummus. We do put chickpeas in our Minestrone Soup and it does make a difference what brand you buy, big difference in texture and taste. I thought it was promising that this will be a product that will interest the Middle East. I know there are issues with soybean production because of the drought so maybe chickpeas will fill a void.
Hubby and I love this stuff, I make it at home but if we buy it I only like sabra brand or the homemade hummus from the local greek place by me. The flavors we like are roasted garlic and the red pepper.

I can't say that I love it. There's something about the grittiness that turns me off after a couple of dips.
BUT!
I made a discovery recently: edamame hummus. It's made with edamame instead of chickpeas and the difference in texture is noticeable: it's much smoother (less gritty).
And, no, I'm not anti-chickpea. As a matter of fact, I had chickpeas in my salad today. Yum, yum.
I love Hummus too, all kinds of flavors to choose from. My daughter can't stand it, I think a lot of it is a texture issue for her.
