Hmmmm I have wondered about the bread machines and if they got used or became another kitchen appliance that sat unused in a closet gathering dust. Do you guys have and regularly use a bread machine?
Love my bread machine, use it all the time, mostly to make doughs that I can then roll out and shape myself. Sweet breads, cinn. rolls, pizza dough, bagel dough etc....
I have some black beans simmering on the stove. The house smells wonderful. I like to cook things, too, that lend themselves to yet other meals. We'll have black beans and rice for dinner tonight. Topped with a dollop of sour scream, grated cheeses, and fresh diced tomatoes and bell peppers, with cornbread and a small salad, it'll be tasty, relatively healthy, and I can puree the beans tomorrow for black bean soup.
Take a cup of flour and a cup of warm beer (any kind). Season the flour, we use italian seasoning--don't be shy with it and salt and pepper. About a Tablespoon of each spice. Once this is all mixed in the flour add the warm beer mix it into a batter and let it set for about 3 hours. You're all done. This is a simple beer batter and works great for us. Just 2 indgredients plus the seasoning. Be sure to also seasoning your fish too. You can use this beer batter for veggies and several other items. If you need any more help just let me know.
I've decided I can't handle leftovers so it's Chinese for us tonight!
