cyn, sending good prayers, good karma and good vibrations your way!

To all those quitting smoking - go for it! It's such a good thing for yourself and your family. I wish I could get my husband to quit - he's tried many times but honestly he just doesn't want to quit I quit just before I got married 16 yrs ago (I had visions of my nice white poufy dress going up in flames) so for whatever reason that worked Even to this day, I still get cravings at odd moments.

Bought a nice piece of salmon while at the fish market yesterday - I'll broil that tonight with some lemon/pepper seasoning and steam some broccoli with it. Probably have some rice too.

Happy Friday and Happy Spring! Bright and sunny today

Bebette and I are soon going to be restocking our kitchens. I am taking my herbs and spices--as they are expensive to replace all at once--altho considering shelf life it wouldnt be a bad idea to start fresh! But everything from salt to flour to refrigerator condiments...will need to be bought from scratch.

But I am ahead of myself....first I have to buy a stove and refrigerator. Thinking stainless steel....do you have any recommendations or experience one way or the other?

Cyn....good thoughts are still going your way........
The smoking thing? I smoked for 32 years and quit 4 years ago cold turkey....best thing I ever did. I had bad asthma and barely use the inhalers today.

I have a cooking question.

I am making again this year for Easter Herb-Encrusted Roast Leg of Lamb for Easter.
It is a great recipe I got off the FoodNetwork last yer.
My question is the cooking time......
It calls for a 6 lb. leg of lamb to be cooked on 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Does that seem right to everyone...seems to me as though it wouldn't be cooked thoroughly.

Opinions???????? Thanks

CrazyW-just read 30 min per lb for medium. If you like it pinker reduce time by 30 min but leave in over (cooks.com).

Elston may I add...lavender and put a lit candle on your windowsill with the window open a couple of inches will remove all bad spirits...so I've heard.

Lacey.thank you.........I thought for a 6 lb. an hour and a half was not enough time......That's what I thought too!!!!!!!!!

elston - I personally don't care for stainless as it shows any fingerprint or smudge it gets. I've always gone Whirlpool on my appliances and always had great luck with them. Have ya'll seen these fridges with the internet built into them?? Crazy!

An American Indian tradition is to burn sage in each room of a new house to remove bad spirits. I've done this the last two moves and will do it again when I move to MO next month. Never had bad spirits......only Mom & Dad.....LOL!!!!

I was thinking of marinating my salmon - anyone have a good marinade?
