Remember the Fruit Stripe gum with the Zebra on the package? I also remember when the flavored Shasta drinks were the "good stuff", not the "cheap stuff"!

They still sell Fruit Stripe and the flavor still only lasts for about 30 seconds!

How about Charleston Chews, Marathon Bars (the braided chocolate with caramel inside) and Chunky (little chocolate squares)? Can you tell I like chocolate?

I also remember when the ice cream man sold "bomb pops"... the ice pops that were red on the top, white in the middle and blue on the bottom. I think they still make them but call them something else that's "politically correct".

I loved Golden Circles white bread. The only loaf of round bread I ever heard of.

Anyone remember Koogle? It spread like peanutbutter but it was chocolate. mmmmmmm!

Libby's Fruit Float?

Danish go rounds?

Hostess fruit pies when there was real fruit in them? Or the really good fried pies at McDonalds?

Big Buddy bubble gum? It came in a 12" stick & you were really cool if you could get a whole one into your mouth & blow a bubble.

Default Snaps

There was a candy called snaps. It had licorice in the middle and came in pastel colors. The coating tasted like laundry soap!

Remember the candy "cigarettes"? Those certainly would not be acceptable in today's society! I grew up in a time when more people smoked than didn't, and I remember us kids with those candy cigarettes acting cool!

Shwa mentioned the ice cream man - - - I haven't seen one of those in a long time. I remember hearing that music and screaming and jumping around, begging for money to get an ice cream, then trying to get out the door in time to catch him before he left!

I remember Koogle! Whoa, that's been a while!

I liked BB Bats in chocolate and strawberry.

Does anyone remember the chocolate powder that turned into gum when chewed? I can't recall the name and it wasn't around all that long. But it was good.

Chunky bars were good, esp. the ones with raisins.

I loved the original Chunky, when it was actually a chunk...and the nuts used in it also included cashews...before they cheapend it.

some kind of toaster muffin. Can't remember what they were called but they were kind of shaped like an english muffin so they went in the toaster but they were more of a muffin texture...I remember both corn and blueberry ones......
Are you talking about the Howard Johnson's Toastettes...often sold in the freezer section of grocery stores? They were very good.

They still sell them. My kids chased down the ice cream truck a couple of weeks ago and he was selling him. I was shocked. I thought they went away a long time ago.
