I have a friend like this, he only eats chicken, steak, ground beef, pork chops, bacon, pasta, rice and occasionally French fries. When we go there for dinner I bring 2 side dishes for my hubby, myself and my friend's SO. There might be a salad if the SO makes one. There's always dessert though LOL.

I would graciously eat what they served or decline the invitation.

Do you bring the sides without talking to the hosts first or is bringing them agreed upon by everyone beforehand?

Usually, though, people who invite us to dinner ask, "Do you eat such and such?"

If it is something I eat at home I eat. If something that is very strange and the thought turns my stomach which meat and pasta don't I'll eat, other wise explain why I can't eat graciously. And be thankful for the invitation.

I'll even eat a vegetarian meal without complaining . If the host(s) take the time to prepare a meal I'll have the courtesy to eat it (or at least try it).

These days it is getting so everyone eats so differently, that before you invite anyone you have to ask. I just had that conversation less than an hour ago -- she is going carbless and I wanted vegan Chinese, so she is cooking for herself and so am I. It's not a dinner event -- the movies are the real point.

I eat whatever I'm served. I'm more focused on enjoying the company than the menu.

As long as it's not something really weird (worms, fish eyes, snake, brain, etc.), I'll eat it. But then, normal people are not going to serve up things like that without first asking if you will eat it.
