Seeing 3.99-6.99 lobster on here makes me want to cry. It's usually twice that here, even if it's not live.
You could make a cajun butter. Or boil it with similar spices. You could also throw bits of it in a pan very briefly with lemon and white wine and...butter.
While I'm not much into bars, there was a bar where I used to live that sold a whole lobster with all the fixin's (your choice) for $6.95. I suppose they made up for it in alcohol sales but that's the cheapest I've ever seen it.
I usually boil a potato and steam fresh vegetables. The lobster is served with clarified butter and a lemon wedge. I spoon a little of the clarified butter on the potatoes and vegetables.
When it comes to subjective matters of taste, people have wildly different opinions. Don't like it, don't eat it - move on.
