I would say Popeye's.

KFC was good until they stopped making hot & spicy.

Walmart is strangely good too and only $5.98.

My mom Not bad for a east coast born, midwest raised woman!

I do love the stuff at Pizza Ranch, though. A guilty pleasure!

Myself

As far as a national chain I'd have to say Churches

I know, I know they are not as big as KFC but somewhere in the early to
late 80's KFC lost it's for the lack of a better term 'FUNK'

The original became more greasy, and the extra crispy was just over done
this is just my humble pinion

Popeye's would be my second choice, but even fewer stores

A certain Grandmother I know! and several other home cooks. Restaurant fried chicken is never as good as that carefully tended with heart and soul.
