I always found their chicken to be bland, too, sorry.

Best I ever had was independent, but I am not above having supermarket chicken. Actually, that is our usual.

I will pretty much always buy fried chicken. I don't ever deep fry anything in the house, and to me, panfried is nothing special.

I prefer tavern fried chicken (and fried fish), but if I'm not sticking around to eat, chain chicken it is.

Love the Hungry Man fried chicken too..... some reason they taste really good but are way too small.

I don't like Chick-Fil-A either, their chicken always seems soggy to me.

Some of the best chicken I've had actually comes from the deli inside grocery stores and gas stations.

Roy Rogers Restaurants in Virginia and Maryland have very good fried chicken, as well as hamburgers and roast beef sandwiches. Back in the 90's, they beat KFC in a regional taste test. And later for a while, the Roy Rogers chicken was served at Hardee's locations when they were co-owned. The recipe was originally known as Pappy Parker's and was created for Marriott restaurants.

I was overjoyed to see Popeye's here in Anchorage. Until I actually purchased some. Service was unbelievably sloooow and it just didn't taste the same. Sort of dry and bland, though I got the spiciest combo. I guess Coop's Place in New Orleans is still #1 for me then.
