Soup is the meal and not a side or starter dish. I have it more in the winter.

I eat soup every day. On Sunday I usually make a big batch of soup for the rest of the week.

About once a month I make a sweet Italian sausage stew. Cut them all up with corn, sweet peas, tons and tons of diced potatoes. Let it all boil good, then simmer all day long in a large pot with seasonings. Throw it in the fridge til it hardens, then reheat. Tastes much better after it's been reheated. Lasts several days since I wind up eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snacks at night.

I occasionally have soup for lunch, or dinner in the winter. Chicken noodle, or tomato basil, or black bean...and it would be the meal, not an accompaniment.

Yes, of course. A small cup of soup to start the meal (we usually skip the first course).

I love soup. I make a pot at least twice a month. If I am out and about or when I am traveling, soup is always my go-to meal.
I don't do the can stuff. When I see it on a menu I always ask if it is made in house.
I love soup!

We make lots of fresh soups. Chicken noodle from stock, veggie soups, broccoli, barley, udon noodle.. We make a lot.

Most of the heartier soups like stews and beef soups are the main dish, while others are usually a side or served for lunch. My wife bakes bread so we normally have the bread and butter on the table to go with it.

Matter of fact I'm smoking a pork shoulder this week to make sure I have enough smoked pork for my udon noodle soup.

I love soup.. probably most any kind. There is something very satisfying and nutritious about it. I do not have it daily, but just the other day had "Butternut Squash". Thanks for reminding me - I should make some.

YUM. If it was in front of me, I wouldn't turn it down. I do cook, but sometimes I would prefer meals to just magically appear, instead. : )

wow, I don't know many people who consider soup important to their meal. We think of soup as the main course when we have it. Last night,. 13 of us went out for dinner, we had a choice of soup or salad, 12 people choose salad. Spoiled brat loves soup, again as an entree. Left over or canned for lunch a couple times a week, but for dinner he wants home made and french bread or texas toast served with it. the soups I make are usually the very harrty ones, like bean soup, split pea, creamed veggie with chicken, Italian, etc. and yes, chili. We do eat it all year but not often and mostly in the winter. The advantage in the supper is, the kitchen doesn't get hot if you just have a big crock pot full of soup cooking.
