I thought live wriggling squid was a special treat in some South Korean restaurants. Based on the multiple videos I've seen on youtube.

Oh boy, here we go!

1. McDonalds: I got a big mac and it had staples in it. Yep. Full blown staples. Still folded up as if they weren't stapled into anything yet. It happened twice, one day after another. I'll never know wtf happened there.
2. Panera: I got a muffin and it had hair baked INTO it. It was the grossest thing ever.
3. Local Chinese take-out: My general tso's had bones in it, and then I inspect a bit closer to see feathers on the meat and what I assumed was a chicken beak or toe nail. I never ate from that place again.
4. Another local Chinese/Japanese fusion place: Found hair, yet again, all up in my food. A good 10 strands. I never ordered from there again, either. It was so bad, one strand was caught halfway in my throat and halfway in my mouth, so I had to struggle with trying to pull it out while not swallowing anymore, while simultaneously spitting out food I was chewing on.

Some of these experiences others are posting are really something else. Especially the poisoning story, and finding smashed flies in your food.... the bathroom stories are just frightening all together. Ugh.

Default What is your worst food/drink experience?

one time I was eating a sandwich and managed to cut myself and there was blood on my sandwich so I had to throw it away.

Trying something for the first time and not knowing if it's spoiled or it's really supposed to taste that bad.

One time I had an apartment that didn't have a window in the kitchen. I went in and opened a box of crackers and ate some in the dark. Went back in for more and turned on the light. The crackers in the box were crawling with bugs!

Went to an "Italian" restaurant in a little bitty town with my parents, siblings, kids, etc. I ordered seafood pasta. The menu said that it had assorted seafood in it so I was thinking maybe some crab meat, some lobster. Nope. It was something with tentacles and I am pretty sure they just opened up a can of some kind of canned "seafood" and poured it over spaghetti. I couldn't eat it and just said I wasn't hungry. But I actually was disgusted.
