I would have said yes to all of it...and throw in some hash browns. (Yes, I am hungry right now).

There's no need to be insulting or to call people names. This is a simple question, and people seem to be getting upset for whatever reason. Why not just pass this thread up if you think that I should have accepted her offer?

They knew that I wasn't a vegan or vegetarian because we'd all been to gatherings and out to eat. I normally order something that has beef, chicken, or fish in it and they've seen that.

OK disclaimer: I am feeling irritable at this time of the month, and message boards are an easy way to take out aggressions, though it's not really nice to do that. But I'm feeling a little apathetic right now as well...

This is not about whether you should have accepted her offer. This is about this being one of the weirdest/dumbest questions I have seen on here. It's pretty much akin to saying, I said hello to someone and they said hello back and smiled and asked how my day was. Why did they do that?????

Duhhhhhhhhhhh...........

It's nothing like that. I had already declined once is what I'm saying, it was awkward to have to decline her a 2nd time.

You weren't declining a second time, it was a new offer. And the reality is that they were just trying to be hospitable. If you weren't hungry, you say oh thanks, that sounds good but I already ate or whatever. And then you move on. The reason people don't get this thread is that most people don't think twice about it. "Are you sure I can't get you anything?" is normal to ask a guest, not awkward.

LOL George Costanza turned down a woman who offered coffee at her place because it keeps him up.

I would think that the OP now understands the woman was being hospitable.

Ok, let me have it all! Muffin, jelly, sausage, do not hold the coffee
Complaining in a food forum about having been insulted by the offer of food twice in a row. Time for popcorn or tears!

I needed to clarify what actually happened and people kept personally insulting me.

I think the OP's purpose on posting this question was to allow me to be amused by all the replies!
