The microwave doesn't kill bacteria, but that sounds like an awfully long time to heat a slice of pizza at that temperature. How much bacteria is going to grow on a piece of pizza which has been refrigerated for 12 hours? It doesn't seem a health hazard.
I agree. If bacteria is a problem, that pizza probably shouldn't be consumed anyway.
Yeah; SMH over the bacteria, too. Really, just a few seconds in the microwave will melt the cheese and warm it up without toughening -- or incinerating -- it.
My preferred method for reheating pizza is in the small toaster oven. If I'm in a hurry, then I'll use the microwave.
