We had homemade pizza - pepperoni, green olive and onion. After reading the pizza thread we had a while back I felt like experimenting with a new crust. I already had some sauce left over in the freezer so I was hoping to find a quicker method than my time-consuming one.
My favorite tried-and-true is crispy on the outside and yeasty/chewy on the inside. But now and then we like a thinner, crispier crust. So I looked through a few blog sites reading reviews.
I was disappointed not to, in a quick perusal, find a familiar site that I knew I could trust. But I did find one that seemed pretty positive and reading through the recipe thought I could make it work well with a couple of tweaks.
I was wrong. The pizza was gorgeous and tasted perfect but biting in I realized the texture of the crust was all wrong. It was slightly tough and underdone. It was also chewy but not in the good bread-y way.
It's what we all already know. Rarely is a shortcut a good thing except in foot races.
I had been CRAVING wings for the last month, and the hubby finally agreed to go with me to a wings place, and we were supposed to share the order, but then he started freaking out about calories so I just pigged out on the whole thing!
Grilled bone in rib eye, mushroom risotto, and sauteed spinach.
Then it's back to the vegetarian dinner thread for the week.
