I'm a big fan of Twinings as well, especially their black currant and black tea.

My local Costco is currently selling 100 ct. boxes of Twinings English Breakfast Tea (which is a black tea) for $8.97, which is an amazingly low price!
I think that Costco's pricing may differ somewhat in different areas of the country, as does their merchandise, but if you are lucky you will be able to find that item for $8.97 (or, perhaps less) at your local Costco.
I've tried green tea, black tea, sleepytime tea (or whatever you call it), orange tea, even little known PITO PITO tea.
All tea's taste like hot water to me...anybody else have that same experience.
I thought the same until I had tea made by the Sentient Bean in Savannah, Ga. First the tea type is fresh leaf, not minced in a tea bag. Then a tablespoon of the tea is placed in a paper sleeve and brewed in a mug of fresh hot water. Amazing. The tea has distinct flavors and they are great hot drinks.
Bully Tea is my favorite. Take two bags of green tea and seep in hot milk with three teaspoons of sugar. Great when you are sick.
IMO There is a difference between water boiled in a microwave and water thats boiled in a kettle. It seems to me that when you boil water in a mircowave then add the t-bag the tea doesnt diffuse the same as when water is poured over the tea from a kettle.
I drink black tea, I either use loose leaf assam or Tetleys which one I choose depends on how much time I have and what I'm feeling like that day. I bring back Tetleys from the UK when I visit and when I run out my daughter sends it over for me. Loose leaf I like Teavana and once again if I've recently visited the UK I buy from Whittard of Chelsea or other specialty shops.
For me Lipton and Bigelow are both weak and lack body and I very very rarely drink iced tea or fruit flavoured teas.
Yes, I think you are right with regards to using the microwave.
I've also tried microwaving a cup of tea (Tetleys, of course) that's gone cold, but it just doesn't taste the same afterwards!

well I can taste the difference to some degree, but also agree with you: tea is not my drink of choice. the only time I really want tea is in a Chinese restaurant and that is just tradition. Otherwise if I never drink it I am just fine. I had a friend who passed away about a year ago. We were childhood friends for over 70 years: she loved her tea but would use one tea bag for 2 cups. I think she just loved hot water.

When my brother was a teenager, he had a friend whose mother typically used tea bags 5 or 6 times!
He was offered a cup of tea at their house, and he said that it was a truly revolting experience, from the glorified hot water that he was served, to the dish in the middle of the table that contained several old, disgusting-looking tea bags that had been used...God only knows how many times.
