This is the definitive pairing in terms of comfort food. Even now, at the ripe old age of 81, I cannot imagine a bowl of tomato soup sans a grilled cheese sandwich (or two).

No, I haven't. Thanks for the suggestion.

I was using Green and Black's but lately it seems to have disappeared from the shelves.

I got a dark chocolate at a UK Aldi that was filled with tart cherry and chili, and it was FANTASTIC. I wish I'd gotten more, because US Aldi doesn't carry it.

Looks like it can be purchased here but maybe they don't ship.

One of my favorites also. Lately I love tomato basil....Homestyle brand is the best imo.

One of my favorite light meals is a flour tortilla....sliced sharp cheddar, toasted on both sides in my cast iron skillet on a dab of butter. I slice it like pizza, with a helping of cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes on the side.

Or a great big p-nut butter and raspberry jam sandwich and a glass of ice cold milk.

You reminded me JanND that I like a toasted peanut butter sandwich with bananas sliced on it. The bananas can't be too ripe. I like them firm and slightly on the tart side.

I'd like to add my 2 cents to this interesting topic, I'm a huge breakfast guy, so here it is:

Huge omelette with mushrooms, onions, & swiss cheese
Cup of fresh cut up fruit
Side of French toast w/ maple syrup
Burnt to crisp bacon
Cup of strong java

Food nirvana!
