If a restaurant repeatedly served me that, I would not longer eat there, or, as is common for me, stop ordering anything with animal protein.

I'm super sensitive to getting weird bits, I gag and lose all interest in eating the rest.

I went back and ordered the mapo tofu, which has a small amount of ground beef.
One piece had cartilage, or something that seemed like cartilage.

I hate that because it tastes and feels like a piece of plastic. Will try another place.

We had a family favorite here but one day I ordered sweet and sour pork and the chunks of meat looked just like little rodent haunches.

Once I noticed that I never went back. It didn't taste bad but was odd to have all those similarly shaped pieces. Nothing I can imagine makes sense - too expensive or labor intensive - but still. . .
