Sour? Every delicious borsch I've had had been sweet. That's why it's so delicious.

Sour is rassolnik, soup made with pickles and pickle juice.

Borsch is lovely, rassolnik is not.

bors !!!

No no no, you see you confuse something.
Borsh or Borsch as you know it, it is made with an ingredient I gave a link above that we make for Borscht... it is a slightly tangy juice made from corn meal and wheat bran. We place that in the soup instead of lemon or other prefer vinegar. And I was saying that juice is not tangy yet, but tomorrow it will be.

Borscht is not sweet because it has either lemon/vinegar or sauerkraut juice and of course is lovely because is not in big quantities. But I hate the taste of vinegar and I use lemon juice or sauerkraut juice.

I have a vague memory of my Mom using something called 'sour-salt' in borscht?

Once you'll see the process you won't be confused.

I'm done, I am ready to write the tutorial and I will post everything on the Recipe section.

The soup is fantastically delicious, I can't describe to you the smell and the taste of it, you have to give it a try, at least once and I can bet, you will never have another soup from the can.

I can see the joy on my husband's face tonight for dinner.

Yes, yes, yes... at least we can talk of long time ago memories.

I used cabbage instead of beets, my husband won't eat beets.
