Bread for me too. Bread with just flour. No fruit or raisins. No butter or jam. Just plain warm bread.

Beans. Get your protein and your veggies/fiber.

I am surprised at my own choice. I don't like most beans.

Abiding by the rules of the game - can you make bread with just flour? With no salt, sugar or yeast - just flour and water - if we are allowed water?

Water is not a food as in it's pure state it has no nutrients. Water must be allowed or we all die before the 30 is up. And yes you can make pan bread with nothing but water and flour. It is edible and you will survive with its fiber, protein, and energy for 30 days. It's not a balanced diet and at the 30 day mark your gums may bleed some but it will work. As another poster lamented, this way I don't ruin a favorite food for life... I think most have heard of unleavened bread? This is it.

I have unleavened bread in my pantry, Matzo. Not my idea of food for a month!!! Especially without salt.

I guess way back when, all the sailors survived on that for months on end - what were those dry biscuits called - the ones that got weevils in?

They got scurvy tho from lack of Vit C, but British sailors had limes to counteract that - hence they got called 'limeys'

Yep my school educated me in a little British history in science class more years ago than I'll admit to. Them Limeys are cool cookies for figuring out what caused the problem and finding a fix. As for the biscuits I'm not clicking on that one. Memory is not finding it in the shallow recesses of my mind. For my 30 I'll have to make fresh daily so as not to violate the ingredient list. We are not allowed added protein in any form. Including weevils.

Ship's Biscuits! or HARD TACK ....Of course....

Here's a recipe! no weevils in it....

Ship's Biscuits: the Sailor's Diet | Online Information Bank | Research Collections | Royal Naval Museum at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Biscuits are still purchased for the Ministry of Defence for use in operational ration packs but not for general messing.
