We don't Tim Horton's on in New England that I'm aware of... and I forgot to mention... I call it Charbuck's.... lol
I was a multi-department manager for Sutton Place Gourmet in Alexandria, Va a number of years ago and they had their own coffee roasted fresh every day... I really learned to love good coffee... that's why DD stinks.. as someone mentioned a few pages back... it's all in the two types of beans.. and American's have been hoodwinked into the cheaper bean. What a pity. Most palette's in this country are quite unsophisticated compared to other nations.
Today both suck! Starbucks is one of the worst and has a muddy quality to it. Of course if you are ordering the ice cream store versions of coffee you really wouldn't know what a good cup of coffee tasted like anyway. I think DD coffee is better if it is roasted, ground, and brew in a timely manner. Today that doesn't happen and I think many DD's don't really use DD coffee, but a cheap store brand and filter it through their dirty socks.
Atlanta Bread Co and Panera's make a much better cup of coffee as far as coffee chain stores go.
No DDs around here, so I've never had their legendary coffee. Charbucks is no great shakes. Someone brought me a coffee drink from there last month... I have no idea what it was, but it was like drinking burned, thick hummingbird feeder water. It was nasty.
the rare times I go to Starbucks I always get the Skinny Vanilla Latte...that's some good sh*t right there..Our office gets our coffee from a local roaster here in Charlotte and it's better than DD's or SB's
I can't stand Starbucks, I'd have to pick DD. Coffee critics as well as national taste tests always show Starbucks to be some of the worst tasting coffee in America which leads me to believe is an image/brand thing. I think McDonalds beat them on the last national taste test.
I love me some Starbucks! I can't believe how many people don't, wow?
