Cyn, ain't that the truth??? It was SOOOOO good. Even with just a bit of pepper on it - no mayo, salt or anything else. mmmmmm And the one right next to it is turning a lovely orange. Can't wait!
Didn't start out that way, but it's gonna be Chicken Cacciatore. I threw a leg quarter into my cast iron skillet of simmering onion, celery, poblano peppers, garlic and tomato paste. Took the chicken off the bone about mid-afternoon, and it's been on low heat ever since. I just put the spaghetti on.
HG- Your dinner last night sounds wonderful. But you got me and others here stuck on blueberry pancakes, lol.

Yes Elston I have learned there are two kinds of Dumplings. My friend's grandmother used to call the ones you made Chicken and "slick" dumplings which are more like a pasta. Most recipes are more of a biscuit. I'm sorry you didn't like them but the slick ones are my favorite and I had a heck of a time finding a recipe for them. Better luck next time. I think you need to make the dumplings with baking powder or soda to get your fluffy biscuit type dumplings.
Lacey- I am so sorry you had such a rough couple of days. I hope you feel better and you deserve that drink tonight. Enjoy.

Wow that is interesting. I never thought about skillets supplementing iron in our bodies. Sorry you had to pay to get the well water tested. Is there anything wrong with too much iron?
nomoresnow- Enjoy your first tomatoes. You are making me green. Our last frost date is May 10.
Hi all. Dinner for DH was pasta with meat sauce. One of his favorites. Since I have to make 2 different meals every night I'm lucky my DH has simple tastes. So if it makes him happy then I'm happy. I had Talapia with carrots as my veggie. I'm not a big fan of Talapia so I'm glad I finished the frozen bag of fillets.
The sirloin steak tips I marinated in teriaki sauce were wonderful.....I did them in the wok so I could get the heat up and avoid them simmering in their own juices.....a quick sear! So easy and so delicious. I also had sauted mushrooms in butter and sherry..... added to peas and served with rice. I didnt mix the peas and mushrooms into the rice....I know my DP likes it better seperate and I could mix mine on the plate.
Just finished my dinner. Pork chop, peas, and baked tater. Fresh pineapple for dessert a little later. May even get an ice cream sandwich...Maybe.
