I always liked coconut water since a kid. But now it has become so accessible and easy to find anywhere you go. I am addicted to it, while I know overall it's is good for you, it still has a lot of sugar. I try to limit to drinking it once a week, but if I could I would replace it with my daily intake of water!

Anyone else addicted to coconut water?

I like it, but I'm not addicted to it.

I think I first tasted it at a juice bar in NYC years ago, then started buying young coconut in Natural Food stores, because I loved all the things I could do with the coconut "jelly" to be found inside.

For instance, blend a fifty/fifty mix of fresh mango and coconut jelly and it makes a delicious pudding.

Or blend the jelly alone, with a little of the water, and it makes a great creamy dessert topping.

Put the topping on the pudding, and voila... an all natural and very delicious dessert.

And I drank the water.

In Jamaica we are indeed addicted to it. America is finally catching up to a good thing. We drink it right from the coconut, put a hole at the top and put the coconut to our head. The more civilized amongst us use a straw. Not a single day goes by that we don't drink one. We then cut it in half and eat the jelly.

My son drinks a lot of it but I've never tried it. I don't really want a new sugary drink because I got off most soda and juice and now only drink water and want to keep it that way . I love coconut however so I'm sure it's wonderful.

Even if you don't drink it yourself, you can be assured that your son is getting a healthy drink that has far less sugar than sodas or sports drinks (an 11 oz. glass is 60 calories), but more potassium than a banana, plus manganese and other minerals and vitamins and antioxidents.

I love coconut water and have been drinking it since I was a kid. I'm not a fan of the bottled stuff. Fresh coconut is what I grew up drinking (easily available in NJ) and I can't stand the packaged stuff.

Anyone else addicted to coconut water?
I wouldn't say addicted but it's what I like to drink beside coffee, red wine, and water.
