Oh! But I did have some ice cream! It was excellent! I only mentioned the cheese because that was this thread's topic.

A week later, when I returned to Philly, what were the only souvenirs of my trip? Wisconsin cheese! I brought home about 4 or 5 pounds of six or seven varieties of cheeses! It only lasted about a week!

Hi uggabagga... "squeaky cheese" is new to me....is this something that comes from a cheese shop or that you can buy in a grocery store? Cheese curd I could definitely try....

We drove thru Wisconsin on our way home a few weeks ago. We stocked up on all different kinds of cheeses for family & friends.
We brought home a LOT of cheese.

I had never had cheese curds before. In all the cheese stores we went to, they had plenty of samples to try. The cheese curds I had were all very good.

I brought home caraway seeds in cheese for my Mom. She LOVES it. No thanks...I don't like caraway seeds.
I also brought her horseradish cheese...she LOVES it also. No thanks... I don't like horseradish.

We brought home lots of provel, regular & smoked.
Cheddar cheese, pepperjack, swiss, colbyjack. Parmesan, smoked string cheese & a cheese I thought was fantastic was vegtable cheese. It was very good.
Gouda & several others.
It was fun picking out all these cheeses.
Everyone is ready for us to go thru WI again. LOL...

There's only room for one king in the kingdom. The king's name is Roquefort.

I was checking out the cheese selection in the gourmet cheese area of my local supermarket yesterday and I came upon one I'd never seen before, so I bought it to try it out. It's called "bread cheese". The package says you can fry it and serve it with honey and jam. It sounded interesting so I thought I'd give it a shot, but I haven't opened it yet. I think I will give it a try this morning. Anyone ever try this? Just curious what y'all think.

I like Camembert with mushrooms and REAL Italian Mozzarella. Also Greek Feta is my favorite.

I come from a family of cheese lovers. Growing up, there was always a cheese plate at the end of the meal with at least five or six cheeses to choose from. Thus, cheese is one of my favorite foods.

Some of the ones I love best are Tillamook sharp Cheddar (this is an excellent American cheese), Gruyere, Morbier, Camembert, Brie, Brillat-Savarin, Pont l'eveque, Gouda, Edam, Smoked Gouda, Vacherin, Raclette, Comte, Bleu d'Auvergne, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, Tete de Maure, Cantal, Epoisses, Pecorino Toscano, Pecorino Sardo, Fontina.

Yum!!
