Been craving my favorite soup that my mother used to make: Duck Soup. It requires wild duck* (all dark meat) and I have not had any access to such in many years. As I recall the recipe included a significant amount of wild rice, chicken broth/stock, celery, carrots, onions, fresh ground pepper, rubbed sage, and at least one wild duck, the more the better as you could make it as thick as a stew.

*Important note to remove all steel shot from duck lest you chip a tooth on soup.

let's see...favorite soups...first ones that come to mind:

new england clam chowder
homemade split pea/ham...I make mine the way my mom did...chunks of carrot/onion/celery,and small sea shell macaroni...sometimes elbow macaroni...
lentil soup
bean with bacon--have only eaten the canned version, but that was pretty good
Mexicali Bean Soup...found this one in a better homes & gardens soups/stews cookbook many years ago...good one-bowl meal type soup...

like just about any kind of soup there is I think...only ones I don't really care for are homemade turkey noodle or any soups with plain white rice...
but if that's all there is then I will eat a small bowl of them...all this talk about soup has given me a craving...think tomorrow night will be homemade soup night, as the temps will only get to about 50 for the high...now...what kind??
