Weston residents, need your help please. We're considering a waterfront property in Weston (by a lake), with a fenced yard but no screen on the patio. How bad would mosquitos be - is a lack of screen a no no (my husband gets bad skin reaction to mosquito bites)? What about alligators (yes, we're very new to the area and have no idea about that :-) I have two little boys and want to make sure we consider all the cons (the pros are that the house is great and the community is where we want to be). Thank you for any input - we need to decide soon and these waterfront considerations will be invaluable!

I was on the lake for the last three years in Weston and had no mosquito problems. I never saw a gator in my particular lake; off Indian Trace.. I guess there are gators out there, not sure...we had no signs of "warning alligators" posted

Wouldn't want to let little kids or dogs roam near the lake unattended.

If your house were to back onto a canal I'd be uncomfortable but not a lake. I've lived, just south of Weston, on a lake for 15 years and never thought about, nor heard of any of my neighbors being concerned.
Expect frogs though.
Personally I love living where I can see the water.
