Bet you also voted for a "change" too.
Excuse me, but since this person is working he/she is a taxpayer, so he/she should be entitled to this saftey net. I am a social worker and it is a myth that people "live" off welfare, there is a cut off time and it does not lift people out of poverty. The reason why we don't have widespread poverty like during The Great Depression is because of public assistance, these safety nets. Large amounts of "welfare fraud" is a myth, there is less than 2% fraud. And most of tax payers money goes to DEFENSE, not public assistance.

Yeah, I want to see how they hold up, too.

BS, a lot of them committed suicide when they lost everything.

I don't think that people understand that 70% or more Americans have an untreated mental illness. No ones financial situation or life in general is going to be ok if they are not mentally stable. And you know our insurance and mental health situation in America, kinda sucks. Plus, there are those of us who are caretakers of the mentally ill and or special needs individuals. I have TWO hyperactive autistic children and it is not easy for parents, with special needs children.

I knew a girl who lived in the projects and had gotten evicted for not paying her $18.00 per month rent. She was always doing things to mess up her life, could not hold a job, etc..etc.. Yes, to an outside person she would be considered lazy and a low life. Yes, she had children, but anyway, somehow social services were called in. She was given a mental evaluation and it turned out that the had biploar personality disorder and had to be on medication. WOW!! she was like a whole different person after her mental illness was treated. Was able to hold a job and make sound decisions. People just don't understand the power of a person's mental health. Most habitual criminals have untreated mental illnesses, the homeless, the habitually unemployed, the sexually irresponsible, most people who seem like they don't give a flip about anything something is unstable with their mental state.
