I grew up in Suniland area of Miami...87ave and SW 120 St to be exact. Lived there for about 23 years. Went to Epiphany school in South Miami and Columbus for high school. Met my ex-wife and she lived in Gables Estates....then she moved to Deering Bay. We then got married...

We then moved to Miramar and lived there for 1 year...in Viscaya off Flamingo and Honeyhill RD at dade county line. Hated it...lots of break in's, robberies..crime. We got scared and left.

We then moved to Cutler Bay and lived there for 2 years. Loved living there...very nice community..close to black point marina..we lived in Pelican Bay....bought a pre-construction home. Very proud that I was part of the incorporation effort into getting that part of Cutler Ridge into becoming Cutler Bay.

She got very sick...we got divorced, was forced to sell home in Cutler Bay.....a year later met an awesome girl and we started dating and eventually got married.

We moved to Hollywood and lived there for 6 months. We lived in a crappy area because she was renting a place at the time with a roomate....off 441 and plunket st.

We then moved to Coral Springs and lived there for 2 years in a condo...off wiles and university. Place turned section 8....went downhill fast.

We finally settled down in West Davie off Flamingo and 595 and have been living here for over a year now with our 4 month old baby boy. We love Davie and our neighborhood.

That's an amazing list! I'd love to hear a short few sentence to a small paragraph impression of each place...but would probably take you several hours easily!

Well, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that gypsies & nomads hang out on a relo board. Okay, Im gonna take the easy way out and just write a list...if anyone has a particular question about a place, I'll be happy to give a run-down...

1) Mid-beach in the 50's on the beach, Miami Beach
2) Bay Harbor Islands
3) Mid-beach walking distance to 41st street
4) Mid-beach 47th & Prairie
5) South Beach - Bay Rd, Morton Towers
6) Surfside
7) Biscayne Park - 1926 Old Spanish
8) Country Walk, West Kendall (after Andrew)
9) Tampa, Lake Magdalene on the lake and with an orange grove
10) Weston, The Ridges
11) Pembroke Pines, Grand Palms, Bel Aire
12) East Davie - plant nursery
13) Plantation, Jacaranda CC

My favorites? 1 & 13 (one apt & the other, house - it's all about the location...)
Least favorites: 7 & 9 (ironically as these were the nicest houses - just wasnt comfortable in the areas)

1. Bauder college dorms on Commercial and Dixie in Ft Laud.
2. Somewhere just west of 441 off Miramar parkway. Seems the same, working class
3. Jo Lin apt motel on Johnson between 28-26th in Hollywood-Bad then, bad now
4. SW 8st in Hallandale. Seems the same as it ever was. OK.
5. N 17th ave and Harding in Hollywood. bad then, bad now.
6. Pasadena place in Pembroke Pines. Was nice, went section 8.
7. Jacaranda Village apts-Plantation. Nice enough.
8. Single family developement off Broward near Nob Hill in Plantation-Very nice.
9. Just North of Griffin, west of 95 in Ft Laud/Hollywood. seedy, but ok.
10. South beach-11th and Michigan. Fun for a while.
11. Margate-Just west of 441 on Winfield blvd. Quiet. I liked it a lot.
12 Ft. Laud-Middle river terrace. Decent building on water, seedy surroundings.
13. Margate-Lakeside drive. Decent, on a lake.
14. 17th and Dewey in Hollywood. Seedy, but I liked it there.
15. S 17th and Fletcher in Hollywood. I liked it, but there was a lot of homeless poeple about, and it flooded BADLY in December.
16. N 14th and Arthur in Hollywood. Nice, quiet area.

I'll probably be moving to Sunrise next. Eh. I thought I could match the person with 32 places lived, but I didn't move as much as I thought I did.

Surprisingly, Margate was my favourite place to live. It's true there isn't much there, but it's quiet, not much traffic, and felt much less edgier than Hollywood, which I thought was my favourite place.

Sure!

8) Country Walk...

positive - we had toddlers and the neighborhood was crawling with little kids as most everyone there had started renting from an original owner or had bought a house from an original owner after Hurricane Andrew. So we were all new and all had little kids at the same time. Fun times on the cul de sac!

negative - local elementary school altho beautifully located within the community (this was the "original" Weston also built by Arvida), it was awfully overcrowded (40 kids in a class was allowed in 1996) and we ended up having to put the kids in a magnet that was 15 miles away.

10) Weston, The Ridges...

positive - I like Weston because it's pretty, the Ridges has an awesome park.

negative - neighbors seemed alienated from one another, cookie cutter houses, (at the time - 1999) no library nearby or much of anything other than Sawgrass Mills...had to go Pines Blvd or University to shop

11) Pembroke Pines, Grand Palms, Bel Aire

positive - I loved the house (courtyard style) and golf course view, aesthetics of the community, walking distance to both grandmothers, convenient to shopping, close to Miami

negative - too far from the kids' school and friends, not many kids in our neighborhood

13) Plantation, Jacaranda Country Club

positive - favorite house so far for livability & view, cool to have a dock & boat & be able to fish, close to school & friends, convenient to shopping, convenient to downtown, only 20 minutes to the beach, sense of being in the middle of everything, sense of "home" - lots of ex-new yorkers live here

negative - you have to figure on private school by high school if you live here, supposedly it rains here more than anywhere else in Broward - this is my first summer so I'll see
