Is my washer bill high? $60/month for 1 person (Cape Coral, Gateway: condo, house)

I'm by myself and hand wash my dishes and use those painful $2 water saving shower heads I can turn off while lathering myself up with soap or shaving. I'll water a tree here or there. Do they charge more for the size of your property or something? I used to pay $40 in a 1 bedroom apt. now in a 3/2 home.

Your water bill is based on usage, not the size of your home.

Depending on where you live some water companies charge a flat rate of let's say $10 every month, on top of that they charge for usage and if you are in a house now your bill probably also includes sewer. So they get you when you use the water and when you let it go down the drain....

Ah. That probably explains it. Thanks. Hopefully others in my area, Cape Coral can chime in with their bills to compare. If this is right then the standard cost of water + sewage at minimum usage would be $60 per household. Hopefully otherwise I'll need a big refund.

I'm in a 2 bedroom condo in Gateway and my utility bill is around $70 every month and that is with two adults.

We pay water sewer and trash for about $50. for two people. Yours does seem quite high.

Ah, that should explain it. Thanks. Hopefully. Otherwise I'll need to collect a big refund. Hopefully others can chime in with their numbers. If this is right than a household with minimum water + sewage usage should be at around $60. Can anyone else confirm? I'll have to look at my next bill a bit more closely. I've just notice it's always around $60 and then i just recalled I never spent that much when I rented by myself.

Yes, there is a flat rate for water AND sewer and then the additional usage charges. I find it a little high for a 2 bedroom condo especially since I don't do that much laundry.
