I've been looking for a place to live that is an easy commute to the naval base & a safe place to live. Safe enough to live alone & walk my dog at night.
I found a house I like that is listed as Remington point add. Is that the same thing as Remington point?
And I know the commute is decent.but how safe is the area? Its near marine creek & old Decatur road. Crime reports show some crime but not an exorbinant amount.
Any input would be appreciated? I'm also open to other good areas!

We have a few friends that live in Remington Point and they haven't had any problems. You may look across the street by Willow (I think Springs) Park. They have lots of jungle gyms and running area around the park. The only issue is that they are widening Longhorn Road and it has been a pain for them to get in and out of their development. Not sure how long that is going to last though. He works at the base as well and has about a 10 minute commute.

We have some friends who live in that area for 8yrs and haven't had any problems. I will tell you that the school is AMAZING! We live in Saginaw and are zoned for another school, but put in an in-district transfer to go to Remington Point Elementary. Kids have been going there 2yrs now and we love, love, love it!

I second what Guingirl said....the areas around Willow Creek park are definitely worth looking into to as well. Willow Creek subdivision, The Dominion, The Commons, Courts of Willow Creek, and a few more. Lots of existing homes, as well as new builders.

I've lived in Remington Point for seven years. I've had no problems security wise. The reconstruction of Longhorn is a pain but I use Old Decatur Road to access 820. I haven't heard any complaints about the schools. (My kiddos have already left home.)

We moved out of Saginaw due to their casual attitude toward code enforcement (OCD neighbor). We shopped neighborhoods in the area and settled on this subdivision. The only drawback is the distance to the nearest Unitarian church.
