My husband asked me to switch to Tide several months ago after reading the rave review in Consumers. I tried it, and saw no measurable difference in the laundry. I buy either Costco's Kirkland, or ALL at this point.
I make my own and buy whatever is on sale. I refuse to pay the price for Tide. I found a post on Soap Nuts, still investigating it to see if it will work for me. It's green cleaning so should be good for my allergies.
I have extremely sensitive skin and suffer from allergies. I have broken out in rashes, hives, and water blisters from various irritants. My allergist says stick with Tide, so I do. And yes, it is absolutely worth it to me.
Tide is foul stuff! For people with chemical sensitivities, it reeks, as if it's toxic. Some people notice effects on their electro-magnetic field, if they're doing any kind of energy medicine (acupuncture, hands-on healing, etc.) I haven't noticed any difference in cleaning power since switching to non-toxic, bio-clean laundry soaps.
Never too old to learn something new. Where do you buy it? Thank you.
Amazon does carry it, but I found mine in the paint section of a small town ace Hardware store, be careful you dont get the one that says phosphate free.dont let the directions about being a driveway cleaner scare you off its safe to use in the washer and dishwasher, as far as my research goes, its also in many cereals, Trisodium Phosphate.
For what reason? I use cheap detergent from the Dollar Tree and my laundry is clean after washing.
Rubi some people have hard water and it makes it harder to get clothes really clean, mechanics clothes farmers ect get expecially dirty TSP really gets this kind of dirty clean.
And I have seen deceptive packaging, with TSP in large letters, then a teeny tiny 'substitute' below it.
The substitutes are not as effective.
TSP isnt banned, laundry detergent sold with the phosphate in it is banned, but its legal to add your own phosphate at home, unless this is a new development, I hope not I rarely need it in the laundry but use it daily in the dishwasher.
