The 5 bladed razor cartridges are so ridiculously over priced. The old fashioned double-sided razors are a probably less than one tenth the cost.
A straight razor is probably the least expensive option over time, you just have want to add a few more minutes to the ritual of shaving.
Or you can get a Panasonic wet/dry shaver for about the price of a large pack of Gillette Fusion blades. They last years before the battery wears out, in that time you'd have spent at least a couple hundred in cartridges.
There's a reason you get those nice handles in the mail for free!
I have been using Bic Metal disposable razors for years. If properly dried after each use, they last at least a month.
I tried the latest "Dollar Shave Club" razors last month and the experiment lasted about three days. I could not get underneath my nose well no matter how I configured the razors.
Unfortunately, I have to purchase the Bic metal razors from Europe through E-bay or Amazon but I still have a 10 year supply.
I buy a big pack of 5 blade cartridges when Sam's has a sale. The last pack I bought for my husband was $26 and it's lasted more than a year. I used to buy him cheap disposables and he'd always end up with cuts or razor burn. I already save money by cutting his hair at home, no need for him to shave with something that hurts in order to save a bit more.
