Herbs, usually basil, rosemary, cilantro, thyme etc.

I like them because they are easy to grow, they look and smell lovely out on the patio and I get big bang-for-the-buck (have you priced fresh herbs in the grocery store lately??? ). I try to use something from my little herb garden every night when I cook dinner.

Flowers! I love flowers and we have long winters here in the north. Come spring I cannot wait to see color. I love nasturiums, but grow many different kinds.

I have to agree with you. Flowers are my favorite things to grow. After that,
I'd say raspberries and tomatoes.

I love my banana trees! There are so many kinds to grow. You only have to get one, and then you have babies all summer!

In-ground, various gourd type things: squash/pumpkins, watermelon, honeydew. Apart from the fruit, the blooms are awesome. Also, various herbs.

I also love evergreens, and keep tropical fruit trees as potted (indoor winter) plants: several citrus, cherimoyas, guava, a few other things. I haven't gotten them to fruit yet, but seeing green foliage in the dead of winter is a great thing. Citrus trees are dynamite foliage plants - the leaves can be used in teas or as a seasoning, and they smell great.

Tis truly hard to narrow it down, I normally have about a 6000 sq. ft. garden, my tomatos are always popular (I believe humans should live on a "Tomato Sandwich Diet" for at least 4 months out of each year.) My Sugar Baby watermelons and my cantalopes are also quite popular with my neighbors.

I love growing snap peas. I sowed my seeds on 9/12 and as of 9/26, they were 9" high already. I love plucking them off the plant and eating them raw, or steaming them.
