What do you think of this retaining wall?

This is not my wall work. Just saw it driving in town, and stopped to take a photo.

I think its pretty decent looking. The first one I've seen with mixed block colors.

I like it.

It's good for these reasons:

It is well constructed and sturdy.
It is attractive in its curved design and materials and multi-coloring.
It does not contain gaps which will retain soil runoff and soon harbor weeds.

Nice retaining wall. Like to see more like this.

^ I agree with most of that, looks well built, no gaps, the curve, but I don't care for the color combo.

Ugly. Sorry, but I think it's ugly.

I'm not a fan of concrete block wall to begin with, but the rainbow effect does not help. Who wants a concrete wall to be a focal point? Or for it to stand out even? It should be a solid color and fade away as much as a large section of concrete can. That landscape needs plants - and lots of them. It's very sterile at the moment.

A color milx like that could be an interesting way to add a wall around a play area in a back yard that had a slope.

Well it does have a certain elementary school feel, I guess.

Doesn't matter what we think. All that counts is if you like it. If so, go for it.

I have to tell you though. the contractor in me wants to take my rubber mallet and knock down the 5th and 6th blocks from the right on the top row to level it.

They have two cool shades (grey, charcoal) and two warm shades (brown, red). From an aesthetic point of view I think it would have been better to keep to one color family at a time. Perhaps they were trying to hedge their bets so it would go with a variety of future paint colors on the house?

I don't care for the color combination at all. With the consistent size and shape of the blocks I would like consistent coloring as well...maybe more than one color but not 4 in different tones and shades.
