I was born in the US and have 0% "US ancestry." But America as a whole continent is relatively very young and likely hasn't earned much of a space in DNA tests.

Maybe in another 1,000 years, "American" DNA will have a slot, much like Western European (of which I have 96%) does today.

I wonder if your DNA would show of chunk of Iberian? I am a Brit, and have 19% Scandinavia DNA, and a smaller % Iberian. I have 1% UK, LOL!!

I was born in the US and my maternal grandparents were both born in Italy and both paternal grandparents supposedly were 100% Irish. Below are my DNA results.

Europe 95%
Italy/Greece - 38%
Europe West - 30% - This was a surprise
Ireland - 13% - Thought this would be a higher %
Great Britain - 4%
Scandinavia - 3%
Finland/Northwest Russia - 2%
European Jewish - 2%
Iberian Peninsula - 2%
Middle East - 2%
Africa North - 1%
Caucasus - 1%
Europe East - <1%
Asia South - <1%

Native American - 0% - This was no surprise

You just never know how genes will express themselves. My late mother was a dark eyed, dark haired, dark skinned Sophia Loren-ish looking Italian woman born in the US and her parents were born in southern Italy. Her mother was blue eyed, fair skinned, and light haired and her father very dark like her. My late father was green/blue eyed, red headed, freckled face of Irish decent looking just like his father and his mother was brown hair and eyes with medium toned skin. I have medium blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin looking most like my maternal grandmother but have my father's deep set eyes and nose shape. I look zero like my late mother so much so that when I was a baby people would kid my mother saying the nursery must have gave her the wrong baby.

What I did inherit from my mother is I have her identical shaped hands and fingers. Even being a 60 year old woman I still very much miss my mother, but when I look at my hands it is like looking at my mother's which she expressed so much affection with which makes me realize through my hands my mother is still very much a part of me and always will be.
