I mean, maybe you left the city because you didn't like the place altogether, or your job, or the people, or you couldn't live with your parents anymore... Whatever the case, I mean just up and leaving, without a new job lined up, without a place to live until you find one, etc. Whatever your story is, tell it.

Easier for some than it is for others.

Still thinking about getting myself a small trailer for living if I did have to bug out due to any number of reasons.

Packed up and moved 18 hours away, it is unfortunate I went back to the area I left.
Oh well, in the past.

I go to the new place, not from the old place.

I pretty much did the same thing back in 2009. It lasted three years and then I moved back to OKC (mistake). After I moved back I remembered clearly why I left in the first place. Now I desperately want to leave again but don't have the financial means to do it. I should be able to though in about five years. Getting older really sucks in some ways.

Yes, I did...and it was fine, no problems.(I was young and carefree at the time though, not sure if I could still do it today.)
Anyways, I love where I am now, so no problem.

Did it twice, though the first time was technically because of school. Both times were to NYC from Chicago. I say good riddance to bad memories and unhappy days (and lucky $600 sublets from my friends).

More than once when I was young and it was easy to get temp work in any decent sized city or town. I could move (with or without putting stuff in storage, etc.), get a hotel room, get a temp-to-hire job within a week (secretarial jobs), then look for a roommate or an apartment after I got the job.

It's harder to do that now. Companies are so particular even about temp hires now. Even for young people.

But, I've moved twice since I retired to subsidized senior housing apartments. It means getting on a waiting list and waiting, so it's not like I can just up and move anymore easily, but I moved to a cheaper town so I could retire. Then I moved again, because the first place was too hot for most of the year.
