That's what I'm hoping for. I appreciate everyone's opinions & thoughts...seems like we're all kind of in the same boat. To give a little perspective on what I want to get away from I'll describe just a few things we've witnessed in this town.

While driving (mid-day) to take my kids to their team practices we see a dozen teens alongside the road that are cheering wildly -jumping up & down excitedly. I realize they're cheering every time the bricks they're throwing at the cars make a hit.

Another incident- driving along a two way semi busy street something hits our windshield. We pull over, & realize theres huge rocks being dropped onto vehicles from teens on an overhead pedestrian bridge.

Another- one of my kids a few years ago got shot in her ear in broad daylight at a park, on a Sunday afternoon. Turned out to be a plastic bb, still had to go to er to get it removed.

I could go on & on. We live in a supposedly decent, low crime area...I have to keep believing there's better out there.

I have felt the same way since I was a teenager. I have always longed to live on the east coast. When I can take a vacation that is where I want to go. If I had one wish it would be to see what my life would be like back there. I would love to be bi coastal I guess.
I have had many opportunities but they have never panned out. I now believe that God has a plan for me and I need to be at peace with that. I have lived in the same area my whole life. I have no family here except my children, but I have some good friends. I fear now that if we move my older kids would not, and I don't know if I could handle that. Yet on the other hand, my worst nightmare is to die and not to have tried living where I have always dreamed of having a home. I think that if you really have the desire to go somewhere you need to try it, just to see if you are happy with the dream or the reality; you can always go home. If I ever do get back there, and I do not like it, I think it will really make me appreciate my hometown and I will finally be happy camper.

Kids are always a reason to make a move or not. I ask older folks that been through a lot of moves and they say to move when the kids are young, like Elementary School. Because if they're in JR High or High School they are most of the time comfortable w/ their surroundings and all there friends. So that I why if I was to move, it has to be within the next 2 years.
