I've lived in Boston most of my life. Lived in Northern MS for almost 7 yrs. Boston is simply too cold, too expensive and the crime is too frequent. MS was nice but cold and not enough opportunity for work.
So what I am seeking is the "perfect" place to live. haha! Is there such a place?
Here is the wish list....
1. Low crime rate.
2. Never too cold, low humidity in the summer.
3. Good school systems. (single mom of a lil girl here)
4. Major airport near by to be able to fly to Boston a few times per yr.
5. Work. I am in HR.

Too much to ask?
Well, forget the northeast and midwest, because it gets too cold there, and forget the south, because of it's high humidity. That pretty much leaves you with the West region. In the West, forgot NV and AZ due to high crime rates. I would probably guess that you could find something that meets all your criteria either in Washington, Oregon, northern CA, or perhaps Utah. Not sure if it gets too cold in those states though.
Hmmm. I've been reading the forums and trying to really get a feel for each state. Tough task but I have nothing but time right now since I am committed to Boston for the next year at least.
By cold here I mean, 2 ft of snow just fell this weekend the the wind chill was crazy. I wouldn't move north at all. So all those states are out!
MS was nice. I did like it there...the summer could be brutal though.
I am looking for something more mild. Doesn't have to be "perfect" just not as harsh on either end.
Portland, Oregon on the west coast, Richmond, Virginia on the east coast! The job hunt may be a bit tricky in Portland, though.
I would also at least check into Oklahoma City, too. ; )
