There were 11 murders in Central Harlem's 28th precinct this year compared with five at the same time last year.In Harlem's 30th precinct, there have been 12 murders so far this year, compared with six last year.
Murders also increased in the 103rd precinct, where Sean Bell was fatally shot by police. According to police data, there were 14 murders in that neighborhood so far this year, compared with nine last year.
So these precincts in Harlem have a total population of roughly 327,000 people, with 2005 murders at 41, 2005 rapes at 144, and 2005 robberies at 1806. From these numbers, we may draw two conclusions. First, Santa Monica's violent crime rate ranks below the national average, but Harlem's violent crime rate ranks far above the national average. Second, if by "comparable" we mean to connote robust statistical similarity with just a reasonable degree of error, the city-by-neighborhood comparison is invalid. For 2005, Harlem has about 3.7 times the total people, but 10.25 times the murders, 6.86 times the rapes, and 7.5 times the robberies.
According to FBI data of 2005, San Bernardino's murder rate was 31.3 per pop. 100,000.[38] In comparison to Los Angeles' rate, 13.2 per pop. 100,000, its murder rate is relatively high.

no matter where i look i dont see NY roughest areas
bring me some facts. hey im just saying ur more likely to be killed out here faster than any NY hood. and yall have way more people
28 precinct covers only about half a square mile. 3x10 city block area. 11 murders is a lot for such a small area (28th precinct had over 100 at one point)
Still a lot of crime in Harlem. Last night 6 people were shot and a cop on patrol was shot at. There was also a mini block riot after an arrest on the east side.
Two types of neigborhood, high and low crime areas. Harlem is on the high end of the spectrum. It might not be the worst, but there is no worst. Bad is bad.
NYC definately has less high crime areas today then it once had, but the ghetto areas are still bad as anywhere else.
1.You don't live in the hood
2.Your not from the hood
3.Your not going to the hood
This thread is going nowhere from the start...You will never be able to find 100% the most dangerous cities and hoods across america. The stats and lil clips that you guys bring up don't justify anything.
The hood don't concern most of you...so leave it be
Hey, Don juan, it's obvious that greatlakes girl aint from the D or she knows it's true...there are more Bad parts in Detroit than there is good. I mean Downtown is the only thing the city cares about. They don't come through the Hood. It's terrible where we live at. I'm from the 6mile Gratiot area and believe me bro, it looks just like how the video portrays it. Some neighborhoods has only 2 houses on the whole block, others don't have any.
You don't know what you are talking about, I am from the D as you put it. Where you live at is all hood; weed smokin, standing on the corner holding forty's, crack infested, dirty and everything else bad.Of course you would agree that the video is a portrayal of the whole city because you live in the hood and you will probably never leave the hood. When you have never had better you think bad is better. I feel sorry for you.
hey i agree with you detroit is the hood. Trick daddy got beat up in Detroit. Styles P got his butt whooped in Detroit too. I know for a fact detroit is very dangerous. its always in the top 5 most dangerous cities. I cant say the same for brooklyn or harlem as this futurecop put it.
Obviously neither one of you has a degree in law enforcement, you have never searched the official government sites for crime statistics and you have not surveyed the city. We already know that M is trapped in the hood. Also I never said Detroit didn't have high crime; I said it is not burned out and terrible looking like that video portrays it. There are nice areas in Detroit. That's what I said. Get it right!!!!!!!

hey i know harlem is bad. i didnt say it wasnt im just saying its not on the top 25 cities. hey i dont see watts on that list either and that place have some of LA's most dangerous gangs. grape street/jordan down projects and the bounter hunters blood gang. in those areas its all bounter hunters or all grape street. but in compton every street is a different gang area. so if u walk down the wrong street its a wrap. but still riots happen daily out in these southern california schools. its always blacks vs mexicans. the mexicans already out number the blacks and they would still be bringing thier older uncles who just got out of prison to commit crimes against kids which is coward moves. image being right next to mexico and being black and having to go against so may mexicans who are crazy as hell. u cant walk down the street without being sweated by either some bloods or some crips or some mexicans. plus so many LA gangs move out here bcuz its much cheaper than LA and they want to get away from all that crime and now san bernardino is turning into LA. but a way more poor version. i rather live in NY than san bernardino rough areas. mainly bcuz NY is more exciting and dont seem so depressing
