I love Mississippi's,Texas, and Maryland's flag these three flags got the most meaning behind it and have the most controversy behind them. The Texas flag mean's revolution when I think of it when they broke away from Mexico. The Mississippi flag is a sighn of the south and rebelion and honor. The Maryland flag history come's from being the first christain state to allow freedom of religion hence why the beutifull crosses are in it.I like flag's with a meaning to that state's history it's important to remember the history of your state that's why I love those flag's.
-- Michigan, sentimental favorite from my home state
-- Virginia, for the political message ... Sic Semper Tyrannis!
-- Alaska, for the beautiful simplicity.
If you made an effort to look it up, you'd find that Alabama's flag is patterned after Scotland's St. Andrews flag, a red cross on a white field. Many Alabama settlers originated in Scotland.
The flag of Scotland is a *white* cross saltire (a.k.a., St. Andrew's Cross) on a *blue* field. This emblem is the source for elements in several other flags, starting with the white saltire and blue field elements of the United Kingdom flag. I'm sure Alabamans were aware of the Scottish reference, just as they were aware of the (nearer) Confederate one, just as the Confederates in turn were aware of the Scottish. It's all the same thing.
A red "upright" (St. George's) cross on a white field is the flag of *England*, which also appears in the U.K. combined flag.
Colorado, by far. I love the bright, primary colors and simple geometric shapes. It's pretty, and it stands out from the crowd. Incorporating the letter "C" on there is a nice touch, just to remind you it's the Colorado flag.
The Maryland flag history come's from being the first christain state to allow freedom of religion hence why the beutifull crosses are in it.
What?
It's true Maryland was the "Free State."
But the crosses bottony are from the arms of the Crosslands family. It's kind of a pun.
