Best:
Boston, Philadelphia, New York, DC, San Francisco

Worst: Phoenix, Houston, Atlanta, Miami

LA has a much better public transit system than many think. Public transportation has been rapidly improving with the inception of its bus rapid transit (BRT) system a few years back.

So true...
My family currently doesn't have a car and life sucks.
Theres not even busing or public transportation of ANY KIND where I live!
I would have to walk for like 30 minutes to get to a bus stop and there is not even sidewalks on most of the roads here!

So baisically you can't walk anywhere (No sidewalks). There is no Taxis and there is no busing or rail. They are building the light rail but that is a freekin joke. Only a few people who live right next to the crappy thing will be able to use it.
I can't wait till I....

1. Get a car.

or.

2. Move near a bus stop.

I live in Orange County, CA. Although this is a car mecca, there are countless thousands of people around here that get by without a car. There's a large bus system here that goes most everywhere in the county, although not real fast, but hey it's just $1 per ticket. I rarely use a car during the week, we have bicycle lanes along most major through streets. I pedal to work and back every day, and use a bike for most store errands.

Default How are the Twin Cities?

I'm just asking. I'm not familiar with the Twin Cities, but I have read somewhere that their transit runs all night. I live in the Boston area, which is pretty well covered as far as where you can travel on public transit, but the system closes down by 1AM, and earlier if you're boarding at an early stop on a line's last run. Enough people do need or want to be out late at night that it seems a transit system should score some points for running late. All night is even better. Of course, it's going to lose a lot of points if it doesn't cover much territory. How's the coverage in the T.C.? Did I read correctly that the transit runs all night? Just curious, since no one has mentioned that area here.
