In your opinion, which city in america offers the most for the least amount of money? There is no right or wrong answer here. I am just curious to see what cities people will pick.
Milwaukee, Cleveland or St. Louis. I would say Pittsburgh but I honestly have no clue about the COL.
As far as urbanity those three are among the top imo. They also have very attractive suburbs with tree cover and decent ppsm.
It will probably depend on what you are looking for. Major cities in the South and those from the Interior Northeast into the Midwest may be the best options in that regard.

Kansas City-- I have lived here my entire life. Since the start of the recession we've had people from the East Coast and West Coast coming here because the cost of living is so low. In fact, I work with a lady who moved here from NYC and I know someone from San Francisco who moved here. They're flabbergasted by how far their money goes.
You can easily buy a large, three-bedroom house here for about $125,000. (Same house in NYC or San Fran would be worth $500,000+) The economy here is almost identical to St Louis.
They're also surprised to discover that the people here are nice and the city isn't a complete cultural wasteland.
Here's a funny story: A friend from NYC came here to visit me. He smokes. He went to a neighborhood drugstore for cigarettes and got into an argument with the clerk. After she rang up his two packs of cigarettes, it was only $7.00.
He yelled at her: "You don't understand. I want TWO PACKS of cigarettes!"
She replied: "That is two packs of cigarettes. Seven dollars."
He was so used to paying the inflated NYC prices for cigarettes that he didn't think it was possible to buy cigs for $3.50 a pack, or two for $7.00. He's used to paying almost $20.00 for two packs.
